Theatre (or Theater) Founded in February 1972. Has produced over 43 plays, featuring celebrated titles like Payer Awaj Pawa Jae, Muktodhara, Meraj Fakirer Maa, Mukti, Baramkhana, Dui Bon, Tomrai and Akhono Kritodash. They have staged Bangla translations of Macbeth, Othello, and other Shakespeare works in collaboration with Nagorik Natya Sampradaya and the British Council, at major local venues such as Shilpakala Academy and Mahila Samity Auditorium. Internationally, productions including Muktodhara, Baramkhana, Meraj Fakirer Maa and Mukti have toured abroad and earned acclaim in global theatre festivals.

Theatre School Praktoni (also known as Abdullah Al‑Mamun Theatre School Praktoni). Founded in the early 1990s as Theatre School and later renamed in memory of distinguished playwright‑director Abdullah Al Mamun (1942–2008), Praktoni has offered foundational training in theatre for over three decades. The six‑month programme welcomes students aged approximately 18 and above, covering acting as well as technical design disciplines like lighting, set, costume, props, and sound. Each batch stages plays—often works by Mamun such as Aaina‑e Bondhur Mukh—at venues like Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Leadership has included academic Kabir Chowdhury as principal and theatre stalwart Ramendu Majumdar in key roles. The school remains a notable incubator of performance arts talent in Dhaka.

Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation (BGTF) founded in 1980. is the central organization for over 350 theater troupes across the country, playing a key role in the theater movement by promoting cultural awareness and developing theater culture. Ershad Hasan is actively involved as a volunteer in various programs with the Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation (BGTF), including festivals, World Theatre Day celebrations, seminars, and more. The federation works to protect the professional interests of theater artists, develop drama, and organize workshops and festivals at national and international levels. I have worked closely with him on many projects under this federation, particularly with Loko Natyadal, and can vouch for his character and abilities.
