Early Passion for Theatre
Ershad Hasan grew up performing in various competitions and solo shows, nurturing his love for the stage from an early age. In 2006, he embarked on his professional theatre journey by joining the renowned Theatre (Bailey Road) Company, one of Bangladesh’s most respected theatre troupes, as an actor. His early performances quickly earned him recognition as a versatile actor with a deep passion for theatre.
Rise as a Distinguished Actor
Ershad Hasan’s dedication and talent have driven him to embrace challenging roles across numerous acclaimed productions. His remarkable portrayal in over 200 performances of Meraj Fakirer Ma cemented his reputation as one of the most committed actors in Bangladeshi theatre. He has also vividly brought to life complex characters in productions such as Baramkhana, Muktadhara, Khet Majur Khoimuddin, One Hundred Sacks of Rice, Madhobi, Rudra Rabi, Vasane Ujan (solo performance), and many more.
Innovator in Theatre Production
Beyond his role as an actor, Ershad Hasan’s expertise extended to stage management and production coordination. He played a crucial role in overseeing major productions and managing logistics for international performances. Notably, he coordinated Toposshi O Torongini at the AACT WorldFest 2022 in Florida, USA, showcasing Bangladeshi theatre on an international platform.
A Leader in Children’s and Youth Theatre
Ershad Hasan’s passion for theatre also translated into his work as a theatre organizer. Through his involvement with Loko Natyadal and the People’s Theatre Association (PTA), he has been instrumental in organizing and coordinating numerous national and international theatre festivals and workshops, including the National Children & Youth Theatre Festival. His leadership in these initiatives has provided a nurturing environment for young talents, integrating theatre into the lives of children across Bangladesh.
