Various Roles, Loko Natyadal – Since 2000

Mashud Sumon has served in various capacities at Loko Natyadal, including as an Executive Member, Organizing Secretary, Joint Secretary, and Coordinator, during different times since 2000. Loko Natyadal, established on July 6, 1981, is one of the leading theatre groups in Bangladesh and an associate member of the People’s Theatre Association. In his roles, Mashud has been deeply involved in the production of notable plays such as ‘Kanjush’ (based on Moliere’s ‘The Miser’), ‘Toposshi O Torongini,’ and ‘Amra Tinjon.’ and many more. He has also directed numerous theatre performances, participated in and conducted multiple theatre workshops, served as a stage manager for various productions, and coordinated numerous festivals for Loko Natyadal. His dedication has been instrumental in maintaining the group’s reputation as a pioneer in the Bangladeshi theatre scene.

People’s Theatre Association, Bangladesh – Since 2000

Through his role as an Executive Member of the People’s Theatre Association (PTA), Mashud Sumon has demonstrated a deep commitment to using theatre as a tool for education and social change. Since 2000, he has organized and trained workshops on children’s theatre across Bangladesh, making theatre accessible to underprivileged communities and promoting social engagement. His work includes teaching drama in schools and colleges, participating in international trainer-led workshops, and coordinating the National Children & Youth Theatre Festival multiple times. These efforts have significantly contributed to the mental and physical development of children through drama.
